Universal and Particular

In John 14 we meet two verses, almost adjacent that focus on the two facets of faith:

The Universal:
14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions:

The Particular:
14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Pointed out by Harvey Cox in his book called Many Mansions. He was speaking about interfaith conversations: the universality of God's love and revelation, and the need for the Christian participant to hold on to the uniqueness of his own faith.
